Tom Swieca – VP of Acquisitions & Development

Tom is responsible for generating and tracking opportunities for new development as well as redevelopment projects. His primary responsibilities include site identification and acquisition, as well as maintaining strong relationships with national and regional retail tenants through strategic analysis that best suits each tenant’s needs.

To ensure that tenant needs are best served, Tom pursues positive relationships with the brokerage community, city and county officials, and property owners — creating added value for all involved.

Tom began his commercial real estate career at Coldwell Banker Commercial in 1983, where he specialized in the design, leasing, and development of retail projects ranging from half-acre sites to power centers in excess of 800,000 square feet. As Coldwell Banker evolved into CBRE, Tom served as Senior Vice President, leading a team focused on retail development, tenant representation, shopping center marketing, investment sales, and strategic analysis in support of tenant expansion. That same expertise and dedication continues today at Rich Development Enterprises.

Tom holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).
